Dr. Shevaun Kirschbaum PT, DPT, RYT

It was her passion for yoga and finding

balance in the body that led Shevaun to seek out a career in Physical Therapy.  She first realized her love of anatomy and the human form when she was in art school right after high school.  Before long, Shevaun’s appreciation of the beauty of the human form evolved into a deep curiosity for understanding the beauty of its function.

Shevaun became a part of the team after working at Mount Sinai
Hospital for a year and a half.  She earned her Doctorate in Physical
Therapy from the University of Saint Augustine in Florida, where her studies emphasized manual therapy and orthopedics.  She graduated with high honors and was the recipient of the Stanley Paris and Catherine Patla Award. Shevaun is scheduled to complete her Certification in Manual Therapy later this year and she is a member of the Orthopedic section of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Prior to attending physical therapy school Shevaun was trained as a
yoga instructor at the Yoga Teacher’s Training Institute in New York and as a massage therapist at the Institute for Therapeutic Massage in New Jersey.  She has traveled to many different places throughout the country and the world studying Vipassana meditation, Reiki, Thai massage and many forms of yoga.

In her leisure time, Shevaun loves to travel.  When she is home she
enjoys spending time with her loved ones, practicing yoga, looking at art and spending time in the outdoors.
